Water color
This is Izabellas painting, done with the same techinque. I love it and want to frame and hang it!
This is the cardboard bottom from a flat of bottled water. I have the kids use them as art trays... you would be surprised how much liquid one of these absorbs without leaking through to the bottom.

Card Project Month 2 Extras
Sometimes I actually have time to play when I get on a creative roll, so this time I took advantage of it and kept on going!
Card Project Month 1
My sister Leah is artistic in many ways, one of which is in the medium of fabric. She is very often encouraging me to spend more time creating. In February we decided to start an art challenge; that each month we would have a design idea to follow, and we would each make a different interpretation of that design each week. I decided to make all of my designs into cards, and Leah decided to make hers fabric post cards. (It helps to keep the project small, and all a unified size.) Here is my first month of cards... the design being the colors Brown, Tan, and Turquoise, with scallops.
Week 4 Re-do, using the same papers...
Week 4... the idea worked out really well in my mind, but not so well on paper. Everyone I asked agreed that it looked more like a pile of poo than a cupcake. Bummer. So I sent it to my sister Leah.

My Pile Of Scrap
Fast forward to January 2004; supplies were quickly accumulating, with no good storage solution...
Then after years of saving, I was able to buy an armoire to house my hobby supply...
Oh glorious space...
And now, April 16th 2008, I am once again "out of room"...
My poor organizational skills + the desire to buy so many beautiful embelishments = overload.
I have a hard time getting anything done because (is it possible?!?..) I have too much to choose from. So, this blog is a challenge to myself.. to transform My Pile Of Scrap into art and memorabilia; one project at a time.
